Kate Erbland is the New York–based editorial director at IndieWire. She manages and directs all of IndieWire’s features and reviews teams (including film, TV, and awards), oversees editorial strategy on all fronts, leads the rollout of the site’s original stories, and writes and edits daily. Her award-winning work places a special emphasis on female filmmakers, in-depth interviews, and awards season coverage. She has worked at IndieWire since 2015.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and art history from Loyola Marymount University. She’s also a member of the BFCA.
