Sheila O’Malley received a BFA in Theatre from the University of Rhode Island and a Master’s in Acting from the Actors Studio MFA Program. Along with weekly reviews at RogerEbert.com, her work has also appeared in The New York Times, Film Comment, Fandor, and the Criterion Collection. She’s written two narration scripts (one read by Angelina Jolie, one read by Diane Lane) for the Lifetime Achievement Oscar tribute reels for Gena Rowlands and Anne V. Coates. A short film she wrote, July and Half of August, taken from a full-length script, premiered at the 2016 Albuquerque Film and Music Experience, and also played at Ebertfest 2017. Her personal blog The Sheila Variations has been around since 2002.
